Bicester
Village has renewed its commitment to Oxford Inspires
and has become a Corporate Member for 2008/09. In 2007, the
designer outlet village helped make Oxfordshire’s millennium
celebrations come alive when they hosted and supported the
Cycle of Time Celebration, a performance recounting
the highlights of Bicester’s storied history.
The Village has a long history of community involvement, through
events such as the Bicester
Jazz Festival, which is now in its seventh year.
Attracting jazz enthusiasts both locally as well as from all
over the county, this well established and free event takes
place in the town centre and at Bicester Village on the 9th
and 10th of August 2008. The festival demonstrates another
successful public/private partnership between Bicester Village,
and Bicester Town Council.
“Bicester Village is delighted to renew its partnership
with Oxford Inspires and to continue to support and develop
cultural activity within the county,” said Miranda Markham,
Group Community Relations Manager for Bicester Village.
Oxford Inspires is a voice for arts and culture in Oxfordshire.
We promote new festivals and spectacular events, support cultural
organisations to enhance their own programmes and deliver
campaigns promoting Oxfordshire as a world class centre for
culture and heritage. Kathelene Weiss of Oxford Inspires said,
“The support of community minded business partners like
Bicester Village will help to make possible an exciting series
of events to take place in autumn 2008 and beyond.”
