with Festival Concert!

BMW
Group Plant Oxford has announced its support
of four key special projects within Oxfordshire
2007, including the Festival Concert.
Alexandra Brooks, Corporate Communications Manager, said: "Plant
Oxford recognizes the impact and influence that major manufacturing facilities
can have on their communities and we feel it important to be involved.
We are proud to support the Festival Concert as well as other events as
part of Oxfordshire 2007. We believe Plant Oxford's partnership with Oxfordshire
2007 will help to make the 'Home of MINI' a more vibrant and diverse community
to live, work and play in."
Anthony Kerr-Dineen, the Festival
Concert organiser and Director of Cultural Activities at St Edwards
School, says "The concert will be a spectacular musical event and
we are delighted that locally-based companies such as BMW Group Plant
Oxford are lending their support to make this celebration of the county's
rich musical life such a memorable one."
The concert's main work is Walton's spectacular Belshazzar's Feast, performed
by a Festival Chorus, Schola Cantorum and the Oxford University Orchestra.
The first half of the programme provides an exciting platform for Oxfordshire's
young musicians. The county's flagship orchestra, the CMS Sinfonia, will
open the concert and the première of a work written specially for
the occasion by Oxford composer, John Madden, will follow. Madden's attractive
setting of Circus Songs will be performed by up to 200 children drawn
from a range of state and independent schools.
