Oxford Bus Company renews its sponsorship with
Oxford Inspires
Friday 21 April, 2006
Cultural organisations in Oxford
will benefit from an advertising campaign made possible by Oxford
Bus Company, which has agreed to become a corporate sponsor of Oxford
Inspires in 2006.
Oxford Bus Company was a sponsor
of the Evolving
City programme of cultural events in 2005, carrying banners on the
sides and backs of buses on routes through the city. The sponsorship now
continues throughout 2006, when Oxford Inspires banners will support culture
in the city and publicise Oxfordshire 2007—celebrating 1000 years
of Oxfordshire.
Catherine Nightingale, Oxford
Inspires Marketing Director said: "We’re delighted that Oxford
Bus Company is continuing its support into 2006. There are few opportunities
to publicise cultural activities in the public realm and the bus banners
were a strong and effective feature of our campaign in 2005, attracting
widespread attention. As a keen supporter of local initiatives, Oxford
Bus Company also played a key role in the launch of the Evolving City
programme and even had its own Park and Ride art installation. We look
forward to further creative opportunities in 2006."
Oxford Bus Company is actively
involved in a number of local initiatives, including: OX1 (Oxford City
Centre Management Company); Oxfordshire Employers' Race Equality Network;
Expressway Oxford (promoting a guided busway scheme which would give congestion-free
links between Park & Ride sites and central Oxford); Oxford Children's
Hospital and local charities.
