Hook Norton brewery renewed its commitment to Oxford Inspires and has become a Corporate Member for 2008. In 2007 the brewery helped to make Oxfordshire's millennium celebrations go with a swing when they created a new brew called ‘Inspired' made with 100% local ingredients. This year they are again advocating local cultural activity by supporting the work of Oxford Inspires and celebrating the county's cultural heritage by producing a beer to mark the 400 th anniversary of Banbury‘s charter.
Hook Norton's Victorian Tower Brewery has been producing real ale for over 150 years. It is the only brewery in the country still driven every day by steam, via a 25 horsepower engine installed in 1899. Hook Norton Brewery was established in 1849 by farmer and maltster Jo hn Harris. Today it is run by the fifth generation, and is well known for its excellent range of cask and bottle beers
