Singing histories use local folk songs and the stories behind them to bring regional histories to life. By putting these songs and their stories in a lively, historic context we aim to popularise traditional songs, making them accessible and relevant to new audiences.

Winter Light Oxford 2008
Winter Light Night 2008 was an evening of spectacle, entertainment and surprises in Oxford’s city centre to kick off the Christmas season in style.
The Children’s Food Festival 2007
The Children's Food Festival 2007, organised by the Northmoor Trust, was fronted by Patrons Raymond Blanc and Sophie Grigson, who gave hands-on demos, inviting children to help them chop, stir, smell and taste.

Blake Lapthorn's Green Breakfasts
As the major local corporate sponsor of the Earth from the Air at Oxford Castle, Blake Lapthorn wants to encourage people to come together to discuss issues surrounding climate change in a lively and relaxed forum.
At each breakfast there will be a short presentation by a leading authority on a "green" topic followed by the opportunity for questions, debate and networking.

The Earth from the Air Exhibition
Earth from the Air at Oxford Castle
A remarkable collection of stunning aerial images, taken by the world renowned photographer Yann Arthus-Bertrand, in an outdoor gallery exhibition amidst the atmospheric courtyard of Oxford Castle. The exhibition will be beautifully floodlit at night so you can take an evening stroll to enjoy the experience. Each shot of astonishing natural landscapes tells a story about our changing planet. Seen together, they are an outstanding visual testimony to the world we live in today.
Yann Arthus-Bertrand’s unique view of the earth is conveyed in 120 breathtaking images, each the size of a double bed, mounted throughout the courtyards at the Oxford Castle and accompanied by compelling earth facts and figures. A large walk-on world map will allow you to locate the images in the world.

Luminox 2007
Luminox was a spectacular public event held in Broad Street, Oxford over three evenings in March 2007. The event, which attracted 25,000 people, was staged to celebrate 1000 Years of Oxfordshire. It took place in the heart of the historic city, illuminating the colleges and cultural buildings which encircle the street.
