White Horse Folk Festival
White Horse Folk Festival is a small, traditional music festival designed to celebrate all that is best about time-honoured song, music and dance. Although started fourteen years ago, WHFF has continued to maintain its intimate yet welcoming atmosphere, where visitors are encouraged to play an active part in the weekend’s events.
An exciting line up has already been confirmed for this year’s programme. Highlights include Dave Webber and Anni Fentiman, whose distinctive voices blend in perfect harmony, Nick Dow, a sublime singer and virtuoso guitarist, and Isambard, a young trio of singers determined to bring the English folk tradition straight into the 21st century. All performers will, as well as taking part in the renowned Saturday evening concert, also host workshops, conduct mini-performances or give special presentations throughout the course of the weekend.
As well as the opportunity to hear some fantastic live folk music, daily sing-arounds, music sessions and dance workshops (offering classes in Step Clog, Morris and Belly Dancing) will also be on offer to festival-goers, and come evening time, everyone will be invited to dance the night away at a stomping English ceilidh. What more could a folk-fan ask for!
