TRUCK: One of the best independent festivals in the UK

TRUCK Festival returns for its fourteenth outing this summer. Having turned teenage in 2010, the festival that aims to build community through music and arts continues to grow up, this year becoming a full three day event for the first time. Building on the well-earned reputation as one of the best independent festivals in the UK, the site is updated this year with new facilities and activities, as well as more great muscial and artistic collaborations.

The main Truck Stage is now in a natural amphitheatre, the new Clash Stage will be curated by three of the top UK independent labels (Transgressive, Heavenly and Bella Union) and the Wood Stage will be home to a programme of acts from Oxford Folk Festival and Nonclassical. The Last.fm Stage, home to plenty of new musical talent, has a line-up put together by BBC Oxford Introducing, the much talked about Blessing Force Collective and the Truck Store, the festival’s brand new independent retail outlet.

Also in 2011 there will be theatre productions presented by Oxford Playhouse Plays Out, a Cabaret Tent hosting frolics with The Long Insiders and Paddy Luscombe Comedy, the late night party spot Boxford with a huge array of electronic music plus a skate ramp and a chill out bar and new camping areas including quiet and family spots. The Wood Field makes its first appearance bringing many of the features that make Truck's award-winning, fully-sustainable, little sister event Wood such a delight.

With weekend tickets still less than £100, Truck truly is one of the best value mini-holidays music lovers could wish for in 2011. Artist line-up includes headliners Gruff Rhys and Bellowhead, Graham Coxon, Saint Etienne, John Grant, Truck All-Stars, Philip Selway, Edwyn Collins, The Go! Team, Johnny Flynn, The Duke & King, Cherry Ghost, Tunng, Dean Wareham (plays Galaxie 500), Roddy Woomble, Jonny, Justin Townes Earle, Admiral Fallow, Chad Valley, Jonquil, Young Knives, Pete & The Pirates and many more.

Date: Friday 22 - Sunday 24 July 2011
Venue: Hill Farm, Steventon
