The Theatre Chipping Norton
We are thrilled to announce that The Theatre Chipping Norton won The Stage Award for Special Achievement in Regional Theatre at the recent TMA Theatre award ceremony.
The Theatre was nominated by Sarah Maxfield of Oxford Inspires for "its work bringing nationally and regionally important work to smaller rural communities" and is the first reader nominated organisation to win the award which is sponsored by The Stage newspaper and the Theatrical Management Association.
Other nominees included Chichester Festival Theatre, Theatre Royal Stratford East for its Musical Theatre Training Programme, The Corn Exchange in Newbury and the Schools Theatre Support Group. The award, which recognises the importance of regional theatres and companies on the wider theatre scene, was presented at the Lyric, Hammersmith by Murray Melvin who himself has a long standing association with The Theatre.
