The Oxford Climate Forum
The Oxford Climate Forum is the country’s highest-profile student climate conference, bringing the leading thinkers and doers under one roof to discuss the key environmental concerns facing the global community.
To be held on the 3rd and 4th February 2012, OCF will bring together world experts in this field together with 300-500 students from Oxford and elsewhere to discuss key issues around climate change.
As well as lectures from Mark Lynas, advisor on climate change to the President of the Maldives; John Vidal, environment editor for The Guardian, and Martin Kirk, Oxfam’s UK head of campaigns, we will be tackling some of the most important questions in the climate debate.
How do we find equity on a crowded planet?
How can the developing world take the lead?
“The greenest government ever”?
Global consensus: future or fiction?
Can technology beat climate change?
A diverse range of issues will be covered, addressing the poltical, economical and environmental impacts of climate change, along with the science and technology being developed to tackle these problems. OCF is an opportunity to engage with the concepts and questions which really matter alongside the highest-level change-makers and innovators.
