Good Night Out: Oxfordshire's Rural Touring Scheme
Good Night Out is Oxfordshire’s rural touring scheme, bringing quality professional shows to rural venues throughout the county. Under the scheme, village halls, community centres and schools will be transformed into venues where you, your family and friends can enjoy high quality entertainment.
What's On - February 2012:
The Great American Songbook
17 February 2012
Venue: The New Beaconsfield Hall
Tickets: £12 (to include delicious supper)
This is more than just a gig! Cate Cody’s show features some of the greatest songs ever written, as well as the interesting stories which surround them. Be enlightened by the inspiration behind the songs, find out how many attempts it took to get ‘Blue Moon’ just right, and be amazed that some of the classics such as ‘As Time Goes By’ were nearly axed. You’ll be transported to the elegance of the 20’s and 30’s where you’ll be smiling, laughing and dancing all night; after all, ‘Anything Goes’.

Madame Galina: Forces Sweetheart
18 February 2012
Venue: Asthall Leigh Memorial Hall
Tickets: £8
Part clown, part stand up, part classical ballerina, total hit! Madame Galina is a one off...once seen never forgotten, as she wows her audiences with her extraordinary dancing, her acid tongue and witty repartee. She has performed the world over: entertained the troops in Iraq and Afghanistan, where they named her 'New Forces Sweetheart', given a private performance for her Majesty the Queen, and been seen on BBC and Channel 4.

The Magic Laughter Show
25 February 2012
Venue: Elsfield Village Room
Tickets: £8, children £4
Ian Keable is a comic magician. His dazzling tricks and funny repartee will make children and even the most sceptical adults gasp and laugh at the same time. The consummate family entertainer, Ian believes that magic should be mystifying regardless of age. Reports from his previous shows on the rural touring circuit have mentioned how astonishing it is that a show of this calibre can been seen in a village hall and enjoyed by all ages.

All participating venues receive a financial subsidy, and it is that which goes towards making sure the quality shows on offer remain affordable to their community. To find out more about the scheme and for a full programme of events, visit the Good Night Out website.
Good Night Out is managed under contract by The Theatre Chipping Norton, on behalf of the Oxfordshire Arts Partnership – a partnership of all the local authorities in Oxfordshire.
