Explore Colour at County Museum this Weekend
Children will have the opportunity to explore and discover the fascinating world of colour on 13 March at the Oxfordshire Museum in Woodstock. As part of the Oxfordshire Science Festival, the county council-run museum is holding art workshops for families. Using the theme ‘Fascinating Colour’, and drawing artistic inspiration from Terry Frost’s Jungle piece, children will have the chance to experiment with paint and create their own artwork to take away. The art workshops will run from 10.30am – 12.30pm and 2.00pm – 4.00pm, and will cost £1.50 per child.
Set in beautiful surroundings in the heart of the historic town of Woodstock, the Oxfordshire Museum tells the story of Oxfordshire through 11 galleries, including a children’s gallery. In addition to the permanent collections, temporary exhibitions run throughout the year. The museum also has a dinosaur garden, which features fossilised dinosaur footprints discovered at Ardley Quarry as well as a life-size Megalosaur and lots more Jurassic delights.
